FOOTBALL

The Garfield-Palouse Vikings lost their third game of the season against the Touchet Redhawks on Friday, Sept. 16. It was Garfield-Palouse’s (0-3, 0-2) closest game of the season. The Vikings led the Redhawks 14-8 at halftime and 20-16 through three quarters, but were held scoreless in the fourth quarter for Touchet to complete the comeback win. The Vikings will next play against the St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse Eagles at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in Palouse.

Kendrick 104, Colton/Genesee 0

The Colton/Genesee Bulldogs were the victims of a rare triple-digit game against Idaho Whitepine League powerhouse Kendrick Tigers in a non league game Thursday, Sept. 15 in Genesee.

The Bulldogs were without starting quarterback Angus Jordan – who suffered a shoulder injury keeping him out of the contest.

Colton/Genesee will hope to get the sour taste out of its mouth at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, against the Prairie Pirates in Genesee.

VOLLEYBALL

The St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse volleyball team put out a good showing at the Sundome tournament in Yakima on Friday, Sept. 16. The team lost its opening game against Cascade Christian high school but won against DeSales 2-0, tied Granger 1-1, won its fourth game 2-0 and lost to Naselle 2-0 to end the Eagles’ tournament.

The Eagles then traveled to Spokane on Monday, Sept. 19 to take on Valley Christian high school in a match that the Eagles won in three sets. The Eagles next play against Tekoa-Rosalia at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21 in St. John.

Wildcats go 1-1 in

competition last week

Colton Volleyball lost to Grangeville 3-0 Tuesday, Sept. 13 but bounced back with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-17) win over Prescott on Thursday, Sept. 15. No stats were available for the game against Grangeville.

Against Prescott, Sidni Whitcomb had 14 assists, Rachel Becker had eight aces and 15 digs, Grace Kuhle had one block and six kills.

The Wildcats will next face the Oakesdale Nighthawks at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 in Oakesdale.
