PULLMAN – Contractor Motley-Motley, Inc., began pavement and curb reconstruction Monday, Sept. 26, near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Center Street to repair damage caused by the water main break that occurred on Saturday, Sept. 17. Work is expected to las through the end of the week, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Efforts are focused on removal, excavation, and subsequent reconstruction on Grand Avenue from Center Street to approximately 200 feet north, and the northern lane of Center street from grand avenue to approximately 50 feet west.
Monday and Tuesday repairs were done on the west side of Grand Avenue, reducing it to one lane with flaggers on the east side. Work then switched to the east lane of Grand where crews maintained two-way traffic on the arterial.
Roads are expected to be rough and gravel-surfaced during the project, so motorists are advised to drive cautiously, anticipate delays, and avoid the area. On-street parking is prohibited in the work zone.
