Vikings, Bulldogs and Timberwolves also lose 1B games
WALLA WALLA – The St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse Eagles went to Walla Walla on Sept. 30 undefeated and took on another undefeated team in the DeSales Irish, guaranteeing one team to no longer have a perfect record.
St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse (3-1, 2-1) was that team, losing to DeSales (4-0, 3-0) 76-0 in a shutout.
St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse coach John Hergert said the loss of Matthew DeFord was felt more on the defensive side against Garfield-Palouse. That held true against the Irish, with DeSales opening up the game with a 30-point first quarter.
The scoring onslaught didn't end and the Eagles came home from Walla Walla with their first loss of the season.
St. John-Endicott will look to get back to its winning ways at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct.7, when it hosts Liberty Christian in St. John.
Patriots 62, Vikings 6
Liberty Christian comes into Whitman County after crushing the Garfield-Palouse Vikings, 62-6, on Saturday, Oct. 1.
The Vikings loss in Richland drops the Vikings to 0-5 on the season and 0-4 in league play. Further information was not available.
Garfield-Palouse will next play at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, against Sunnyside Christian.
The Knights are heading into that game after blowinig out the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves, 82-12, on Sept. 29.
The game in Sunnyside was the second time the two teams met - the Knights won the Week 1 matchup, 52-30.
T'wolves drop two
The rematch was less favorable for the Timberwolves, with Sunnyside Christian taking the win 82-12.
This was the first match in two weeks for Tekoa-Rosalia, as they had to cancel the Sept. 23 game against Liberty Christian (5-0, overall).
The two teams rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 4, with the Patriots coming out on top, 74-8.
Liberty Christian put 22 points on the board in the first quarter, 24 in the second and 22 in the third.
In the final stanza, Tekoa-Rosalia scored 8 points, while allowing the Patriots 6 more.
Liberty Christian stands atop the 1B Southeast, with DeSales in the No. 2 seat and Sunnyside Christian as No. 3. St. John-Endicott is currently fifth; Tekoa-Rosalia seventh and Gafield-Palouse eighth.
Colton/Genesee falls
KOOSKIA, Idaho – The Colton/Genesee Bulldogs lost to the Clearwater Valley Rams of Kooskia in an Idaho Whitepine League contest, 62-22.
The loss drops the Bulldogs to 1-4 on the season and 0-3 in league play.
The Bulldogs will next play at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7 against the Logos Knights of Moscow in Genesee.
