Vikings take first in both varsity runs

All-League Meet takes place at golf course

COLFAX – St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse, Colfax, Colton, Tekoa-Rosalia, Asotin, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague, Liberty (Spangle), Tekoa-Rosalia and Pomeroy all had runners representing at the All-League Meet at the Colfax Golf Course.

Garfield-Palouse took the Top 2 spots in the boys 5,000-meter out of three eligible teams (Asotin and Liberty (Spangle) were the other two).

Sophomores Kieran Snekvik and Brendan Snekvik finished in the Top 2 spots out of 27 runners, respectively, with times of 16:57.24 and 16:58.14.

Tekoa-Rosalia's only varsity runner, senior Erik Lazcano, finished third with a time of 17:10.83.

Colton and Colfax had the next-highest placers among area teams, with Colton freshman Tanner Baerlocher finishing fifth in 17:34.14 and Colfax junior Jaxon Eades sixth in 17:49.24.

St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse had three varsity runners at the event, two of them boys. Senior Rory Maloney finished 12th with a time of 19:40.65 and sophomore Braiden Thomas 20th with a time of 24:08.15.

In the girls varsity 5,000-meter run, Garfield-Palouse finished first out of two eligible teams (Colfax being the other).

The Vikings girls dominated the top places of the run, taking five out of the first six places out of 18 runners.

Senior Kennedy Cook finished first with a time of 20:50.46 and junior Ashleigh Hightree second with 21:00.65.

Sophomore Courage Hightree was fourth with a time of 21:54.71, freshman Charlotte Marshall fifth with 22:41.52 and junior Lola Edwards sixth with 23:02.29.

Colfax and St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse were the only other area teams to have runners compete in the girls event.

Colfax's highest-placing runner was sophomore Gabby Rabaiotti, who finished seventh with a time of 24:22.57.

St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse's only girl in the field, sophomore Sarah Quigley, finished 18th with 38:42.98.
