LaCrosse Community Pride celebrates with a dinner

LACROSSE- LaCrosse Community Pride hosted a dinner for the community, Sunday, Oct. 9 on Main Street. Attendees were able to enjoy pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, beans, and pie.

The dinner was a celebration and the official announcement that LaCrosse has received the designation of being a ‘Main Street Washington,’ community, “We were already an affiliate, but now we are a full Main Street community,” said the President of the LaCrosse Community Pride Board Jeff Pietla, noting that they are the smallest town out of 38 designated towns and cities in the state.

“It was very well attended. We hosted between 90 and 100 people, which is a quarter of the town,” Pietla said “Alex McGregor spoke about the history of the town, and how we’re moving forward,” he noted adding that there are 15 full and part-time jobs that would not be available if the LCP did not own the buildings that host the businesses.

“It was so successful, we’re already thinking about making it an annual event,” Pietla said.
