Halloween events will take place across the county
COLFAX – Halloween is approaching for towns across the Palouse. Monday Oct. 31 has many different events planned.
In Colfax Trick or Treat Main Street will be happening Friday, Oct. 28 from 3-5:30 p.m. Several businesses will be handing out candy on Main Street.
Oakesdale will be hosting a trick or treat of the businesses in town at 1 p.m. “Anyone is allowed to join the parade,” said City Hall treasurer Mary DeGon. Also in Oakesdale the park board is doing a trunk or treat, Monday, Oct. 31 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. There will be trunks decorated, and candy handed out.
LaCrosse Business Group is sponsoring their annual free hot dog and chili feed as well on the 31 from 5-7 p.m. Everyone is invited to enjoy hotdogs, chili, cheese and water, as well as hot chocolate and coffee.
There will be a costume contest from 5-7 p.m., photos will be taken of contestants in their costumes at the end of the night. Judges will review the photos and pick a winner, to which cash prizes will be given and candy/treat bags. Also from 5-7 p.m. there will be a trunk or treat, and 7-8:30 p.m. a Halloween carnival. The Carnival is free to kids of all ages.
In Palouse the Chamber of Commerce is holding a trunk or treat Oct. 31 by the skatepark on Whitman Street.
There will be Fall Carnival Saturday, Oct. 29 from 4-6 p.m. downtown Endicott put on by the Endicott/St. John PTO. If it rains, all activities including dinner will be held in the Endicott school gym. There will be a costume contest for ages 5 and under at 5 p.m .; ages 6-9 at 5:15 p.m .; 10-12 5:30 p.m .; and 13 over at 5:45 p.m. There are cash prizes for first through third place in each age group. A free dinner will be provided for students and their families from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Endicott food center.
