Pine City hosts concert and celebration of new sign
PINE CITY- President of Pine City Historical Society, Louise Belsby is excited to invite everyone to their 19th year doing an annual concert with male singing group His Song, Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Kenova Grange Hall in Pine City.
"Afterwards we always have cocoa and cookies," Belsby said, "It's basically our gift to the community."
Belsby explained that His Song tells the story of Christmas through music, "Ron Van Dyke was a member on the board of directors for the historical society," Belsby said, noting that he a member of His Song, and no longer on the board but is supportive.
Pine City will also be celebrating its placement of a new sign they received from The Cascade Rails Foundation, "Mark Berlaski is one of the members," Belsby said, "He and his group have been able to provide a sign in Pine City, and they placed it on property owned by the Historical Society," noting that the city has not had a sign since before the Babb Road fire.
Belsby noted that the Pine City Historical Society is investigating and looking at different types of signs and manufactures to place another sign near the grange, "so when people pass they know where they are," she said.
