Palouse hosts Cabin Fever Brew Fest

11 breweries expected at fest

PALOUSE– Palouse is hosting their 10th annual Cabin Fever Brew Fest Saturday, Feb. 4. at the Palouse Community Center.

The event started in 2013 explained event organizer Janet Barstow, several people became appreciative of craft beer, which started a conversation about how everyone should appreciate craft beer.

“It became, let’s have a brew fest and help everyone appreciate craft beer,” Barstow said.

Barstow noted that they did have one year off due to COVID-19.

The event name Cabin Fever Brew Fest was chosen, because usually by now people are going crazy and have cabin fever, Barstow stated.

They are back at it this year though, Barstow added that the event is standing outside around campfires, and that people who come have learned to expect this.

“They know it’s going to be cold, and they know it’s going to be fun,” she said.

According to Barstow the event usually brings in around 650 to 700 people, and has always sold out. There’s a set amount of tickets that they sell for the event, Barstow stated, adding that there are personalized glasses for the year that come with a purchased ticket.

“We have VIP tickets that sell out within hours after they’re available,” Barstow said, noting that VIPs get surprise special Brew Fest swag.

This year the event has 11 breweries, each bringing three beers total, so a total of 33 beers. Barstow also noted that the Palouse Lion’s Club was there with their cart, and there are also brats being sold on the outside.

The official brewing list for this year’s Cabin Fever Brew Fest is as follows: Another Round Brewing Co; Bellwether Brewing; Black Label Brewing; Chief Spring’s Fire and Irons Brew; Humble Abode Brewing; Laht Neppur Brewing; Lumberbeard Brewing; Moscow Brewing; Mountain Lakes Brewing; Paradise Creek Brewery; Riverport Brewing Company.
