Whitman County Public Works Road Department is requesting any persons in Whitman County wishing to designate a portion of a Whitman County Road right-of-way as a “NO-SPRAY” area, please contact the Public Works Office at (509) 397-5200 for information and agreement applications. Verification and confirmation of all existing “NO-SPRAY” areas is necessary. Failure to confirm your “NO-SPRAY” area may result in that area being treated with residual and noxious chemicals. Please apply by March 6, 2023 for residual and noxious weed control on all roads, gravel and paved.

Whitman County Public Works, PO Box 430 Colfax, WA 99111-0430, is seeking coverage under the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Construction Stormwater NPDES and State Waste Discharge General Permit.
The proposed project, Almota Road, is located south of Colfax, WA from Milepost 5.82 to Milepost 7.96 on Almota Road in Whitman County.
This project involves 8.29 acres of soil disturbance for Highway or Road construction activities.
Some discharges and runoff goes to ground water. The receiving waterbodies are a Tributary to Union Flat Creek, and Union Flat Creek.
Any persons desiring to present their views to the Washington State Department of Ecology regarding this Application, or interested in Ecology’s action on this Application, may notify Ecology in writing no later than 30 days of the last date of publication of this notice. Ecology reviews public comments and considers whether discharges from this project would cause a measurable change in receiving water quality, and, if so, whether the project is necessary and in the overriding public interest according to Tier II anti-degradation requirements under WAC 173-201A-320.

TOWN OF Malden MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING SERVICES REQUEST FOR STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS
The Town of Malden (pursuant to RCW 39.80) is inviting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from firms interested in providing professional municipal engineering services during the 2023-2025 calendar years. The Town will be selecting a consulting engineering firm for various municipal engineering services for water and wastewater system improvement planning and design, storm drainage improvement planning and design, street and sidewalk projects, grant and loan applications, comprehensive plans, municipal planning, traffic studies, capital facilities plans, land surveying and GIS mapping, geotechnical design, rate studies, technical reports, cost estimates, environmental reviews, funding applications, surveys, plans, specifications, services during construction, and funding administration. Professional municipal services may include those funded by TIB, STBG, FEMA, TAP, USDA, WSDOT SRTS and Ped/Bike, CERB, CDBG, DWSRF, PWB, LID, Ecology, SRF/Centennial Clean Water, SIED, and federal stimulus funds.
SOQs shall be limited to twenty (20) pages excluding a one-page cover letter and front and back covers (if used). Selection criteria will include experience in providing municipal engineering services; qualifications of key personnel; firm experience with plans, specifications, cost estimates, and environmental/permitting processes; familiarity with the Town of Malden and/or experience with municipalities of similar size; experience with state and federal funding programs and regulatory agencies; previous performance on public projects; and references.
