Pullman woman pleads guilty to armed robbery and car theft

Hernandez robbed Garfield man at gunpoint in 2022

COLFAX — Friday, Feb. 3, Gabriel Hernandez, 35, of Pullman pleaded guilty to an armed robbery and car theft that happened in Garfield in September, 2022.

Hernandez pleaded guilty to felony residential burglary, car theft, and possession of stolen property.

Hernandez took part in robbing a Garfield man at gunpoint on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022.

Roy Valdez, 37, also of Pullman, allegedly took part in the robbery. Hernandez is cooperating in the case against Valdez.

Whitman County Prosecutor Denis Tracy told the court that the robbery had to do with a drug deal gone bad.

Hernandez also pleaded guilty to two stolen vehicle cases, in which she was caught with the stolen vehicles twice last spring in Pullman.

Hernandez failed to turn herself back into jail following a medical furlough in October.

She was arrested on a warrant in Spokane in Nov. 2022, and is currently being held in the Whitman County Jail without bond.

Hernandez is set to be sentenced next month.
