MARIAN BALDY KENEDY, 90, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, after a long illness. She left behind her husband Lowell W. Kenedy; daughters Diane Kenedy (Pat Taylor) and Rosanne (Kenedy) Hatley; granddaughter Meghan L. (Chandler) Keeney; cousins Judy L. (Stein) Falk, Roger C. Stein, and Jean W. Cozier; step-grandchildren Chrystal L. Tjarnberg and Sean P. Taylor; and step-great-grandchildren Camaren Lumos and Spencer S. Tjarnberg. She was predeceased by her parents Lois Cozier and James Bennett Baldy, her uncle Philip Henry Cozier, cousin Stephen Philip Cozier, and her aunt Elizabeth (Cozier) Stein.
Marian graduated from Washington State College in 1954 with a B.A. in Business Administration. She sat behind Lowell in Sociology 101, and finally accepted an invitation to go on a date during finals week.
She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and was active in various groups over the years, including AAUW, Junior Women's Club, General Federation of Women's Clubs, and Clark County Genealogical Society. She was a genealogy researcher, descended from pioneers arriving in Washington prior to 1889, and traced her family to ancestors living in the US at the time of the American revolution.
A funeral service will be held in her honor at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, March 10th, at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, Washington.
To honor Marian's memory, we will hold a celebration of her life at the Clark County Genealogical Society, 3205 NE 52nd Street, Vancouver, Washington, on April 1 at 1:00 p.m. We invite anyone who knew her to attend and remember her wonderful life.
