Colfax Bulldogs break Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos

COLFAX - The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls softball team fell in a doubleheader Wednesday, March 29, to Northeast 2B rival Colfax.

The Bulldogs topped the Broncos, 15-0 and 25-2.

The 2 p.m. game was windy, with pitcher Delaney Imler for Colfax battling gusty conditions.

Colfax's Harley Hennigar drew first blood, with a "fielder's choice" hit and that led to a Bulldog score.

A fourth-inning charge for Colfax kicked off with seven runs scored by Karmen Akkeson, Harper Booth, Imler, Hennigar and Devan Becker.

Imler pitched for the five innings, allowing 3 hits, zero runs, striking out 8 and walking 1.

The Bulldogs collected 10 hits.

Imler, Ella Jones, Akkeson, and Hennigar all had hits for the Bulldogs, with Hennigar, Akkeson, Jones and Imler each collected two.

The team didn't have a single error throughout the game.

The Bulldogs stole 10 bases during the game, as two players each stole more than one. Jones led the way stealing the most bases

In Game 2, Colfax scored 13 runs in the first inning, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Akkeson, Booth, Ava Swan, Jessa Patnode, Jones and Brenna Gilchrist all drove in runs.

Akkeson took charge of the plate and lasted the 5 innings on the mound, allowing 4 hits, 2 runs and striking out 3.

The team totaled 12 hits. Imler, Swan, Booth, and Hennigar all had multiple hits.

Imler went 3-for3- at the plate to lead the bulldogs in hits.
