Marcus Stueckle

November 28, 1927 - April 6, 2023

Marcus Stueckle made the journey home to be with our Lord and Savior on April 6th, 2023. He blessed this world with his presence for an amazing 95 years of life. It was our honor and pleasure to provide care for him so that he was able to live out the last several years comfortably at home and surrounded by his loved ones. He passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Marcus was born to Ed and Mary Stueckle on November 28, 1927 in LaCrosse, Washington. He lived the majority of his life between Newport and Dusty, Washington.

In 1950, on a bus headed to a Whitworth football game, Marcus accepted a bet from his cousin that he could not get a date with a certain young woman who happened to be on the bus with them. Marcus won the bet and married Reita Bryson a year later in 1951. They would stay married for 67 years until her death in August of 2018.

In 1952, Marcus was drafted into the Army and proudly joined the 226th Signal Company as a telephone and switchboard operator during the Korean War. He served for 2 years before leaving the Army in 1954 to rejoin his wife, Reita, in Newport, Washington.

Marcus and Reita were blessed with two children; Linda, who would bless them with 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and Jim; who would bring forth 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren for them to love. Marcus absolutely loved spending his time with all of his grandkids and great-grandkids. Having a full house filled his heart with joy.

Marcus was always known to be an incredibly generous and loving soul. He is viewed by all that knew him to be not only a fiercely religious man but also a good-natured man through and through. He was a remarkable role model and a man to be looked up to. He genuinely loved and cared for everybody he had the pleasure of having in his life. He already is and forever will be incredibly missed by not only his family and friends, but also by the entire community.

Funeral services for Marcus will be held on April 11, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the Country Bible Church at Dusty followed by a graveside service at the Dusty Cemetery. Viewing will be held at Corbeill Funeral Home in Colfax on Monday, April 10 from 10:00-5:00 PM.
