Gar-Pal "Spark An Artist" award deadline approaching

PALOUSE — The Palouse Arts Council’s 17th annual “Spark An Artist” nominations deadline for students practicing the arts in Garfield and Palouse districts.

Palouse Arts Council President Shandra Bohn explained former Palouse High School graduate and Arts Council patron Dr. William Murray started the award program.

Generous donations and Arts Council events are earmarked for the awards today.

Having discovered the joy of experiencing art later in life, Murray felt it was important for young people to learn about art, be encouraged to create it, and receive an award for it.
