Rosalia Garden Club Arbor Day event

ROSALIA — Rosalia Garden Club plans to observe National Arbor Day on Friday, April 28th, with a tree planting at 1 p.m. at the city mini-park next to the library.

The chosen tree for this year is a Zelkova Serrata or City Sprite Zelkova for its compact size, ease of care, and good fall color.

The location for the tree is the west bank, having been recently cleaned up from overgrown brush and undesirable plants due to not being landscaped in twenty-five years.

A grant from the Washington State Federation of Garden Clubs and a donation from the Wallace family made funding for the project possible.

The planting is open for the public to attend.

The garden club will also host a contest from May through July for The Garden of the Month.
