Colfax seventh-grader earns honorable mention in essay contest

COLFAX — Colfax seventh grader Jaryn Vanek received an honorable mention in the Daughters of the American Revolution’s essay contest on April 17.

Vanek’s essay, which was on the topic of “American History”, earned first-place certificates at the chapter and state levels before receiving an honorable mention on the northwestern divisional level.

The divisional level is composed of all competing seventh-graders from the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming.
