Oakesdale students place at FFA State Convention

OAKESDALE - Oakesdale FFA students participated in the 93rd State FFA Convention from Thursday, May 11, through Saturday, May 13.

Oakesdale FFA Advisor Jessica Moore shared the following winners of multiple competitions.

In prepared Public Speaking, Jessie Reed took first place in qualifying for Nationals in October and third place in Employment Skills.

Alex McHargue was named State Star in Placement.

Bradyn Henley took third place in Creed Speaking.

Those who received state degrees were Samantha Holling, Alex McHargue, and Sydney Stevens.

Those recognized for their projects on stage that competed in State Agriscience for their projects included Charlie Henning second place, division three in Social Science. Samantha Holling, first place, division five.

In Animal Systems, Kellan DeMeerleer and Caleb Wagner took second place, division two. Paige Eads took third place, division three. Riley Richardson took second place, division three.

For Power Structure & Technical Systems in division two, Avery Roper and Kellen Cooper took third; Autumn Roper and Evelyn Goyke took second place; Charley Lisenbee & Jake Lisenbee took first place.

Plant Systems competitors Addy Lisenbee & Maddie Schluneger took first place in division two.

Those competing in Food Products & Processing, Kasey McHargue took first place in division one. Division two first places were Brody Brown & Ryker Reed.

Jacob Goyke took second place in division three, and in division five, Sydney Stevens took first place.

In Environmental Science & Natural Resources, Riley Fritsche ranked third in division three, and Grace DeMeerleer took first place in division three.

For Agriculture Education DeMeerleer took sixth place, and Dane Booth took fifth.
