Class of 1973 celebrates fifty-year reunion

COLFAX — Fifty years ago, the graduating class of 1973 tossed their caps and collected diplomas from Colfax High School.

The same class will reunite this year from Friday, June 23, through Sunday, June 25.

“We were in the smaller class at the time in our school. We are a pretty close nit class; we were always that way,” said organizer Chris Cook of Colfax. “We are pretty excited.”

The weekend starts on Friday with a no-host social and dinner at the Lumberyard Food Hall in Pullman from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Golfing kicks off on Saturday, followed by a catered dinner and dessert at 5 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Colfax.

RSVP and payment are required in advance by Saturday, June 10.

The weekend will wrap up with a continental breakfast with muffins, coffee, and more, at Schmuck Park in Colfax from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday morning.

“We will have paraphernalia from our class and reunite. We have a few classmates that live far away. We are all looking forward to it.,” added Cook.

Classmates from the class of just over sixty are expected to come home and visit from North Carolina, Texas, and more.

“I Hope as many people can come. Unfortunately, we have lost quite a few classmates, but it’ll be good to talk about them and remember them.”
