MOSCOW — The Humane Society of the Palouse is hosting its annual Kitten Shower supply drive Sunday, June 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the 1912 Center Great Room, located at 412 E. 3rd Street in Moscow.
The event functions like a baby shower, emphasizing donating helpful supplies that provide care for young and orphaned kittens.
Attendees can support local animals in need and learn about the work that goes into raising them.
The HSoP looks forward to the community’s support to gather enough supplies for nearly 200 kittens expected during this year’s kitten season.
May through October is Kitten season, when outdoor cats stay out late and reproduce more often, leading to kitten litters that need raising, care, and given homes.
The event is family-friendly and features kitten-themed games and activities, educational materials, and kittens from HSop.
Attendees can watch as kittens get bottle-fed, watch interactions between kitten siblings, and will even get to hold some of the few older kittens.
To attend, those who come must bring a donation of five dollars or an item from the kitten supply wishlist. The list includes kitten milk replacement; pet-safe heating pads; baby wipes; pet nursing bottles; bleach; unscented laundry detergent; and Hill’s Science Diet kitten food.
