Kennedy Cook named WIAA Athlete Of The Week

PALOUSE — Kennedy Cook of Garfield-Palouse has been named one of the WIAA Athlete’s Of The Week for week 36.

Kennedy Cook earned the recognition after her performance at the track and field districts meet, which took place in Colfax, Washington last week.

At the event, Cook led the lady Vikings to a 1B District 7/9 championship as she competed in the 200m, 400m, and was the anchor for the 4 X 200m and 4 X 400m race. She won first place in all four events. She has the fastest 1B 400m and 200m times in the state, where this past weekend she won state in those events.

Cook has broken three school records in the 200m, 400m and as a participant in the 4 X 400m relay this season.
