Pullman Regional Hospital hosts 18th Annual Golf Classic

Registration remains open until July 1

PULLMAN — The Palouse Ridge Golf Course has teamed up with the Pullman Regional Hospital to put on a golf tournament that takes place Saturday, July 8.

The tournament is for golfers of all ages and skill levels.

Breakfast will kick off the event, which starts at 7 a.m., followed by the beginning of the tournament, taking place at 8:30 a.m.

The tournament is a shotgun-start format and is a four-person scramble tournament. A shotgun-start is where teams will tee off from a different hole to start the tournament, eliminating the hours of wait on the first tee for each team to tee off at. A scramble format is where the team of four plays their own tee shot, then from that point in they choose the best ball of the four, and each member hits from that location.

This will be the 18th installment of the golf tournament. All proceeds from the event will go to the hospital to support their highest needs of renovation. Currently, the funds will help build a fifth operating room, and remodel the post-surgery recovery room.

Registration for the event has opened, and will remain open until July 1. To register for the event, head to pullmanregional.org/golf, or call Tournament Director Stephanie Pierce and the Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation office, (509) 332-2044.

There is a registration fee for the event that can be found online. This will cover greens fees, cart fees, range balls fees, breakfast and lunch, as well as Nike Bucks. There will also be a catered BBQ available to purchase.

The Nike Bucks are currency which can be used to purchase Nike items at discounted prices through an exclusive, online store.

There are many prizes and giveaways to make the event fun and exciting on each hole. There will be a poker challenge, where the winner will split the pot for the team. There will also be an Air-Cannon available to shoot, which will cost money per shot taken. This will take place on hole 15.

Every par-3 will have a raffle entry, each time you hit the green on your tee shot. If you make the putt after your tee shot, you can have a chance to win $10,000. If anybody manages to make a hole-in-one on hole 6, a grand prize will be awarded, a brand new Jeep from Wysup Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram..
