Colfax - The Colfax Rotary Club is working with the Colfax Softball and Baseball teams to sell fireworks again this year for the Fourth of July outside Rosauers.
Rotary Club Treasurer Bob Lothspeich stated that they will be open from Wednesday, June 28, until the Fourth of July from noon. to 8 p.m. On the fourth, they will be selling from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"Price varies on what fireworks you purchase," Lothspeich said, adding that they've been affiliated with TNT fireworks as long as he's been involved with the Rotary Club, so around 20 years at least.
He further stated that the High School Softball team will operate the booth for the first 4 or 5 days, and the Baseball team will take over for the last 3 or 2 days.
"They work that out themselves," he said, "We provide the facility, the fireworks, the permits, and the young people operate the booth and sell the product."
The Rotary Club checked out a mobile hotspot from the library so that the booth would take cash and credit cards.
Lothspeich stated that last year it was where the new coffee business SHOTZ is, and they won't be able to be there this year.
"For years and years, we've been right along the main street near where the bridge crosses near the Palouse River," he said, adding that is the spot that Rosauers has allowed them to set up in.
He explained that the Softball and Baseball teams would split the profits with the Rotary Club.
"We provide the infrastructure, they provide the salesperson, and it's good for us and the ball teams," he added.
"We've got a much better selection than we've had in the past several years, and we accept Visa, MasterCard, check, or cash," Rotary Club Member Scott Ackerman said.
