COLFAX - Colfax kicked off its first Summerfest on Saturday, July 22, with all-day activities available for local families and visitors.
Local businesses had sidewalk sales, and a kid's parade led by local law enforcement and the fire department down Main Street, starting at 11 a.m.
Colfax Chamber of Commerce Director Nikki Nolt said they had an excellent turnout for the event.
"We had a wonderful turnout," Nolt said, adding that everything that was set up was being utilized, "It's always good to know everything was being used that was brought," she said.
She added that the face paint line was long and that she could see everyone shopping as she walked downtown.
Nolt stated that it was fun to see so many different entities collaborate to bring the event together, including the Chamber of Commerce, Colfax Downtown Association, the City of Colfax, and all the local businesses.
"Collectively, that's what made this event so fun is the teamwork and collaboration," Nolt said.
The Cork's N' Caps event went well, Nolt said, noting that the Desert Highway Band also played at the event.
Nolt added that the bands were from all over, "there were some from Lincoln County and Spokane County," she said, "it was fun to see the collective group of people come together and play for us."
The Chamber of Commerce and everyone involved is excited to continue next year with the Summer festival. "We've set a strong foundation for years moving forward," Nolt said.
