Colfax Swimming Pool receives $350,000 grant

COLFAX — The Colfax Municipal Pool, located near Schmuck Park, has received a grant from the Youth Athletic Facilities Program.

The $350,000 grant was given to the pool to aid in upcoming projects.

The City of Colfax will use this grant to improve the pool, and address issues concerning the pool, starting with the leaking problem.

The pool had a 35,000 gallon per day leaking issue, which will be addressed through the grant.

The grant will also allow for the addition of an ADA-accessible pool entry, and will improve the locker rooms to meet ADA standards and requirements, which improve functionality.

As a result of these changes, the Colfax pool will be ADA-compliant with access to facilities, additional requirements for children, and decreasing the operational and maintenance costs for the city of Colfax.

These upgrades and improvements will provide access to the facilities for people with disabilities, as well as reducing operational and maintenance costs.
