Road repaving project on US-195 underway

COLFAX — The Washington State Department of Transportation has announced a road repaving project on U.S. Highway 195 between Albion Road and Colfax.

The project, spanning approximately 8 miles, is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 7, and continue for several weeks until mid-September.

During the construction period, travelers can expect traffic delays on the affected stretch of the highway, which runs between Pullman and Colfax.

Flaggers will be on-site to guide a lane of traffic through the work zone.

The rehabilitation project, funded at $4.6 million, will involve grinding and inlaying new hot mix asphalt to create a smoother and more durable roadway surface.

For the safety of both drivers and road crews, reduced speeds will be enforced near the work zone, and single-lane closures will be implemented.

Lane closures will be limited to the nighttime hours between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on U.S. Highway 195.

At times, one-way alternating traffic with flaggers will be in place.
