COLFAX — Whitman County District Court reported the following criminal conviction sentences from Aug. 24 - Sept. 1

Aug. 24

• Kameron Greenhalgh was found guilty of driving under the influence at a .13 BAC. Therefore the defendant is sentenced to 364 days of jail, with 363 days suspended, and a fine of $1,000. Defendant must serve 1 day in jail, which may be done out of county at defendant’s expense. Defendant owes a total of $1,674.79 to be paid by Dec. 31. 2024, with minimum monthly payments of $50 starting on Dec. 1, 2023. Defendant may perform community service in lieu of $1,000 of fines to be credited at the rate of $16 an hour and approved in advance by the probation department, and completed by Dec. 31, 2023. Defendant has supervised probation for 24 months, unsupervised for last 12 months if all essential requirements of the sentence have been completed. Defendant must obtain an expanded alcohol assessment from a State approved agency with a filed copy by Sept. 29, 2023, and begin within 45 days with filed proof. Defendant must attend a DUI Victim Impact Panel within 3 months. Defendant shall be granted a dollar-for-dollar credit for any out-of-pocket expenses paid for evaluation, treatment and VIP. • Beau Slatter was found guilty of driving under the influence at a .14 BAC. Therefore the defendant is sentenced to 364 days of jail, 363 suspended, and a fine of $1,319. Defendant must serve 1 day in jail, which may be done out of county at defendant’s expense. Jail shall be arranged by the probation department and completed within 90 days. Defendant owes fines totalling $1,962 due by Dec. 31, 2024, with minimum monthly payments of $50 starting Oct. 1, 2023. Defendant may perform community service in lieu of $1,000, to be credited at the rate of $16 an hour and approved by probation, completed by Dec. 31, 2023.Defendant has supervised probation for 24 months, unsupervised for last 12 months if all essential requirements are met. Defendant must have no criminal violations of law, and not drive a motor vehicle without a valid license and proof of insurance. Defendant has unsupervised probation for 12 months.

• Oluwadarasimi Ogunbinu-Peters was found guilty of negligent driving first degree. Therefore the defendant is sentenced to 90 days of jail, 89 suspended, and a fine of $1,000, $1,000 suspended. Defendant must serve 1 day in jail, which may be converted to 12 hours community service, and may done out of county at defendant’s expense. Defendant owes fines totaling $499.42, due Dec. 31, 2024. • Katie Maurer was found guilty of negligent driving first degree. Defendant has supervised probation for 24 months, unsupervised for last 12 months if all essential requirements are met. Defendant must obtain an expanded alcohol assessment from a state approved agency with filed copy by Sept. 15, 2023, and begin within 45 days with filed proof. Defendant must attend DUI Victim Impact Panel within 3 months. Defendant shall be granted a dollar-for-dollar credit for any out-of-pocket expenses paid for evaluation, and VIP. Defendant may petition for early termination of probation after 12 months and after successful completion of all terms.

Sept. 1

• Maggie E. Rash, was found guilty of theft in the third degree. Therefore, the defendant is sentenced to 364 days of jail, 350 suspended. The defendant may serve the 14 days in jail through community service at the rate of 8 hours per day, for a total of 112 hours of community service. The defendant has fines totaling $543, at a $25 monthly payment starting Oct. 15, 2023. Defendant has supervised probation for 24 months. Must have no criminal violations of law or alcohol-related infractions. Defendant’s supervised probation can end at one year if a substance use disorder evaluation and or mental health evaluation and recommended treatment are completed. Defendant must have no alcoholic beverages or non-prescribed controlled drugs.

• Arturo Mendoa was found guilty of driving with license suspended third degree. Therefore the defendant is sentenced to 90 days of jail, 85 suspended, and a fine of $500. Defendant must serve a total of 5 days in jail. Defendant has fines totaling $543. Defendant must not drive a motor vehicle without a valid license and proof of insurance, and has unsupervised probation for 12 months. Defendant shall be granted a dollar-for-dollar credit applied to fine for any amount he pays toward reinstatement of driver’s license and/or restricted license. Defendant was released Sept. 1, 2023.
