1B schools hosting big matches

OAKESDALE — With the number one seeded Oakesdale Nighthawks volleyball team defeating the St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse (SJEL) Eagles Thursday, Sept. 21, they proved why they should be the top ranked team in state 1B WIAA volleyball.

This week, the Nighthawks will travel to Colton to take on the Wildcats. The game will start Thursday, Sept. 28, and will have first serve at 6 p.m.

Oakesdale is also competing in the Linda Sheridan tournament in Spokane. They will play their games Saturday, Sept. 30.

Also for the Nighthawks will be a game Wednesday, Oct. 4. they will host Dayton, with first serve starting at 6 p.m.

For the Wildcats, after hosting the Nighthawks, they have a game on Saturday, Sept. 30. The are competing in the Regional Rumble tournament in Pomeroy.

They will finish with a game Tuesday, Oct 3. They will travel to take on Dayton at 6 p.m.

SJEL will host the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves Thursday, Sept. 28. The game will start at 6 p.m.

On Friday, Sept. 29, and Saturday, Sept. 30, the Eagles will compete in the Linda Sheridan tournament as well. They have one game on Friday before playing the rest of their games Saturday.

For the Garfield-Palouse (GAR-PAL) Vikings, they will play Thursday, Sept. 28, against Dayton. The game will be played in Palouse, and will start at 5 p.m.

On Tuesday, Oct. 3, the Vikings are hosting Pomeroy. The game will be in Palouse, and will start at 5 p.m.

After the game against the Eagles, Tekoa-Rosalia will end the week with a game Tuesday, Oct. 3, with their game against Oakesdale. The game will be in Rosalia, and will start at 6 p.m.

For football, SJEL will look to earn their first win on the season Friday, Sept. 29. They travel to take on the 1-2 Dayton Bulldogs. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.

Tekoa-Rosalia will host Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian School. The game will be played in Tekoa, and will start at 3 p.m.

The 3-1 GAR-PAL Vikings will take on the 4-0 Liberty Christian Patriots Saturday, Sept. 30. The game will be played in Kamiakin, and will start at 3 p.m.

The Colton/Genesee football team is hosting CV. The game will be played in Genesee Friday, Sept. 29, and will start at 7 p.m.
