SJEL wins three sets, move to sixth in district
ST. JOHN – The St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse Eagles (6-1, 5-1 in league) defended their home court Thursday, Sept. 28, against a struggling Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves team.
The Eagles won, 3-0. Set scores were 25-20, 25-17, 25-18.
After the Eagles quickly went down 4-0 in the first set, the team showed heart, and would come back to take the win, propelling them to an early lead, which they never gave up.
The Eagles win puts them comfortably in second place in Southeast 1B district standings behind undefeated Oakesdale (5-0 in district).
With the loss, the Timberwolves (2-3, 1-2 in league) moved to sixth in district.
The Eagles were led by junior outside hitter Emery Molina with 15 kills. Senior outside Kaitlyn Hough added 14 kills, 4 assists and 5 digs.
Senior setter Julia Guske had 32 assists.
Individual statistics were not reported for Tekoa-Rosalia.
