COLFAX — The Colfax Bulldogs traveled to Chelan on Friday, Oct. 6 to take on the Chelan Mountain Goats in their sixth football game of the season.
This was the second time the Bulldogs had an away football game this season. They have already had four home games.
In the game against Chelan, the Bulldogs found their groove early, as they lead after the first quarter.
Their first quarter lead was one of the few times on the season the Bulldogs had a lead.
Unfortunately for Colfax, their lead was short-lived, as their two touchdown first quarter was all the scoring they would do for the rest of the game.
The Bulldogs fell 34-12, losing their sixth game of the season.
With four games left until a crossover game, the Bulldogs will look to finish with a 4-6 overall record if they can win out.
In the game against Chelan, the two touchdowns for Colfax both came from passing touchdowns thrown by Seth Lustig to Jaxon Wick. One pass was a 34-yard touchdown, the other was 15.
The problem for the Bulldogs defense was stopping the run game. Chelan ran the ball 55 times for 400 yards and five touchdowns.
Lance Gogal of Chelan had 45 rushes for 335 yards and four touchdowns.
The Bulldogs had 83 rushing yards as a team, and 50 passing yards as a team.
The Bulldogs next game is another home game, this time against the Kettle Falls Bulldogs.
On the season, Kettle Falls have an 0-2 record, and currently sit as the 39th best team in Washington for 2B, Colfax is 40th.
On paper, this shows to be the best chance of the season so far for Colfax to get into the win column.
Colfax needs to put together a four-quarter game to win.
The game will be played Friday, Oct. 13, and will kick off at 3 p.m.
