Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves ready for Homecoming

Celebrations over the week, football Friday

TEKOA — The Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves are in the midst of their homecoming activities, headlined by the football game Friday, Oct. 13, and the dance on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Of the various events happening in the local area for homecoming is the bonfire, which is happening Thursday, Oct. 12. The bonfire will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the end of main street by the creek. There will be Tug-of-war, free hot chocolate, cider and cookies.

At 6:30 p.m. at Tekoa high school there will be free hot dogs, and the chance to vote on some décor at the school.

On Tuesday, Oct. 10, the Timberwolves had their homecoming volleyball game against the Colton Wildcats.

The game took place in Tekoa.

In the match, the Wildcats would win in four sets.

Set scores for the match saw the Wildcats win each set besides the first, 2-25, 26-24, 25-11, 25-17.

After Tekoa got off to their hot start in the first set, they could not keep up the pace for the remainder of the game, and lost to the Wildcats, who are surging.

In the game Libby Lehn had 13 kills, Kayla Eilertson had 17 aces. Mckinley Chase had 12 assists.

“The girls played their hearts out their first game,” said Tekoa-Rosalia assistant coach Sara Chase.

For football, the game will be played in Rosalia. The Timberwolves will take on the Pomeroy Pirates, with homecoming royalties being announced at halftime.

The Timberwolves are currently 0-4 on the season, and the Pirates are 5-1.

The two teams met last season, with the Pirates earning the 62-0 victory over the Timberwolves.

The last game the Timberwolves played was last Friday, Oct. 6, where they lost 60-30 to the St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse Eagles.
