Almost 200 runners descend on the Colfax Golf Course
COLFAX-For the first time during the 2023 cross country season, the Colfax Bulldogs ran an official race on their home turf.
The meet they hosted this season happened to be their last, as the meet was the 1B/2B League Championships.
The meet was held at the Colfax Golf Club on Friday, Oct. 13.
There were a total of 18 schools represented at the meet. The schools were: Asotin, Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame, Chewelah, Colfax, Cusick, Davenport, Inchelium, Kettle Falls, Liberty (Spangle) Lind-Ritzville, Mary Walker, NW Christian (Colbert), Reardan, Republic, Selkirk (Ione), St. George's, Valley Christian, and Wellpint.
The varsity races that ran were the 5,000 m race for the boys and girls divisions. Each race was ran on the golf course, and the track was race twice.
On the girls side, the overall winner was Allie Robertson of NW Christian. She took first with her run of 19:52.20.
For the Bulldogs, their highest finishing runner was Gabby Rabaiotti. She finished 23rd in the race after running 25:01.26.
Also finishing for the Bulldogs was Destiny Nelson, she finished 37th, running 27:22.14.
Queenie Mayer took 50th for the Bulldogs after running 31:36.29, and
Paige Eads finished 57th overall for the Bulldogs, running 34:36.95.
There were 62 total girl runners on the day.
On the boys side, there were a total of 124 runners, with the overall winner being Benjamin Morales of St. George's. His overall winning race was run in 16:22.63.
For Colfax, their highest finisher was Jacob Ward. He took 75th overall, running his race in 21:36.47.
Also finishing for Colfax was Keagan Mackleit. He finished 108th with a race of 25:20.87.
Brandon Pingle finished 114th with his race of 26:02.06, and freshman Kage Cox rounded out the Bulldog runners, finishing 119th with a race of 30:06.40.
