ST. JOHN - The St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse Eagles had two games during the week, one home and one away.
The home game for the Eagles came on Tuesday, Oct. 17, and was played against the Dayton Bulldogs.
The Eagles had four seniors that were recognized on the day. They were: setter Julia Guske, libero Cami Larsen, outside Kaityln Hough, and middle Kenzie Stanley.
After the recognition, the eagles had their game against the Dayton Bulldogs.
The game was quick for the Eagles, who dominated from start-to-finish, sweeping the Bulldogs.
Set scores for the game were all heavily in favor of the Eagles: 25-9, 25-8, 25-8.
For the seniors, head coach Jenn Johnson had loads to say about them. In a Facebook post dedicated to the seniors, Johnson said, "I am excited to see how each one of you will impact the world. You will always be an Eagle".
In the game, Hough set a new school record with 18 aces in the match. Emery Molina would lead the way with seven kills, followed closely by Hough and Stanley with six each.
Guske added 16 assists, eight digs and two blocks in the match.
This game was a great opportunity for Johnson and the Eagle team to play with different lineups and positions, getting others involved in the game while having fun as a team.
On Thursday, Oct. 19, the Eagles headed to Rosalia to take on the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves.
As with their game earlier in the week, the match lasted three sets again.
The Eagles once again dominated the match, comfortably winning all three sets.
The sweep for the Eagles was their eighth sweep victory of the season in district play.
Set scores for the match were: 25-10, 25-8-25-12.
In the game, Larsen had five aces and six digs, Guske had 30 assists and Hough added 14 kills.
The Eagles will play the first round of districts Monday, Oct. 30. The schedules have not been finalized as of production, but the Eagles are expected to host the first round match up on Monday.
