Multiple places to drop off ballots before Election Day
COLFAX — Whitman County General Election Day is approaching Tuesday, Nov. 7, with ballots mailed out on Friday, Oct. 20, and ballots due by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Voting and ballot boxes close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Ballots can be dropped off in Colfax at the Elections Office, at 304 North Main Street, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Ballots may also be dropped in the drop box in the alley behind the office.
In Oakesdale, ballots can be dropped off in the ballot box in front of the Oakesdale Library, located at 103 South First Street.
Pullman has a ballot box just outside Hinrichs Trading Company, located at 155 Southeast Kamiaken Street, and below the Rosauers, formerly Dissmores, at 12055 North Grand Avenue.
Ballot boxes on the Washington State University (WSU) campus can be found outside the west of the CUB, 1500 Glenn Terrell Mall, and net to the Chinook Student Center entrance, 700 Northeast Thatuna Street.

WSU student Hub, Compton Union Building, 2nd Floor Senior Ballroom, is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday to vote.
Ballots will only be counted if there is a postmark by election day or deposited in an official ballot drop box by 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
If the election office does not receive the return envelope, the election office has no way to contact a voter, and the ballot will not be counted.
A ballot will also not be counted if the signature does not match the one on file. Voters are told not to sign a voter declaration for anyone else, even for a spouse or child. If the elections office challenges the signature and is not fixed, the vote will not be counted.
Votes will not be counted if they are postmarked after election day.
