Palouse Round Table to give out scholarships to local students

Scholarships to be given out at annual bazaar

PALOUSE — The Palouse Round Table Club is hosting its annual Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Palouse Community Center, 220 East Main Street.

Aichele said the event always has coffee and pie or a cinnamon roll for a small price and a raffle every year. “This year, it’s going to be a big cooler full of gifts,” she said, adding that there will be a $100 cash prize and a $100 certificate to the Palouse Brewing Company.

Aichele said the raffle will take place at 2 p.m., noting that raffle ticket purchasers don’t have to be present to win. “They stick their name in, and we call them,” she said.

“We’re also going to have Christmas items,” Aichele said, noting that there will be quilts, runners, and a white elephant sale.

Every year, the club gives $1000 in scholarships to Garfield-Palouse seniors.

“It’s a good place to meet your neighbor,” Aichele said of the event, noting that people from all the surrounding towns have made an appearance.

The philanthropic group is a service organization that has been around for over 100 years.

Vice President and Co-Coordinator Laura Aichele said that there is new President for the organization this year, Susan Wilcomb, who is a Co-Coordinating and learning to take over planning the yearly event.
