Hailey Bergey (Marchand)

Sept. 14, 1988 - Nov. 22, 2023

Hailey Bergey (Marchand), Colfax resident, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Whitman Hospital in Colfax. Funeral Services will be held Friday December 1, 2023, at 1pm at the Catalyst Church Fairview Campus. Hailey will be laid to rest in the Colfax Cemetery. For those who wish, a viewing will be held Thursday 9-5 at the Corbeill Funeral Home.

Hailey was born September 14, 1988, in Spokane to Wayne and Pam (Callaway) Bergey. She spent her early years in Spokane and then moved with her family to Colfax when she was 12 in 2000. Hailey was a cheerleader for wrestling and a pitcher on the softball team. She graduated from Colfax High School in 2007. She attended college briefly at the University of Idaho and was working towards a degree in early childhood development. She worked at the Colfax Community Child care for several years before making her way back to the family business. She helped run all three restaurants at times alongside the entire Bergey Family. Recently, for the last two years she chose to work the drive thru at Pullman Arby's when her health allowed. Hailey totally loved her interaction with her window guests and her window partner Cherise Blechsmidt, together they worked hard and loved their customers. She worked off and on at all the different family businesses.

Hailey and Justin Marchand have been inseparable since July 6, 2010. They have four children. Hailey kept busy as a homemaker and mother. Her main focus was always her family. She loved spending time with her Nieces and Nephews, at the park, and big family celebrations. Hailey was a woman of action with a generous, bounteous heart that continuously invested and touched the lives of many great people. She will always be remembered for the way she made people laugh with her jokes, her witty humor and her lightning fast one liners.

She is survived by her loving husband, Justin Marchand and their children, Rhiley 12, Georgia 10, Rhoper 4, Shye 2, all living in Colfax; her parents Wayne and Pamela Bergey Colfax, three sisters April Phillips (Brandon) Colfax, Holly Lybbert (John) and Ashley Bergey (JP Childers) of North Bend, Washington. Nieces and nephews, Miranda and Hagen Phillips, Cole and Emilee Lybbert, Landen, Kyson, and Preston Novak, Abby and JJ Childers.

We are greatly indebted to Dr. Maggie Lealand and her right-hand helper Victoria for looking below the surface and finally giving Hailey a diagnosis and hope, with the help of Dr. Ashley Lundgren and associates at Spokane Dermatology for never giving up the fight! In the last 10 years she has struggled with an auto-immune disease that often interrupted her life and routine but it never stole her sense of humor.
