City lights tree and announces contest winners
PALOUSE— The City of Palouse gathered on Thursday, Dec. 21, for their Tree Lighting Ceremony awarding several awards for the Native Garden Tree decorating, and gingerbread house building contest.
Deputy Clerk Jamie Gaber said that first prize for the native garden tree decorating contest went to the Calvary Chapel, second place went to Susie Furhman, and third went to Woltering Construction.
An honorable mention for the contest went to Vikotic’s Wall-E.
Gaber said there were only two entrants this year for the gingerbread house building contest who received prizes, including father and son duo Chuck and Ridge Stemke. The Akin family also received a prize for their gingerbread house.
