Colfax Chamber sees new board for 2024

COLFAX - The Colfax Chamber of Commerce's new Board met Monday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m., in the Colfax library for their first meeting of the year.

The Chamber's Board comprises President Gary Young, Vice President Jennifer McCully, Executive Director Katrina Johnson, Secretary Hannah Kuhl, and board members Sara Golden and Alyssa Mullins.

"The meeting was very successful, and we cannot wait to share our ideas for 2024," Johnson said.

McCully and her husband own Sparrow Glass Window and Doors, formally known as Steve's Glass; she has three small sons and lives on a hobby farm.

Johnson is a Navy vet who met her husband during service. They have two twin-year-old girls, and when she isn't working for the Chamber, she is a full-time student at Spokane Falls Community College and plans to transfer to Washington State University. Johnson also actively drills with the Navy Reserve Unit of Spokane.

Kuhl and her husband own the local Napa in Colfax and have a 3rd and 8th grader in the Colfax School District.

Golden is the community coordinator of SUPER Colfax, the substance use prevention education and resources coalition, and has a 2nd, 6th, and 8th grader who attends the Colfax school district.

Golden said this is the first year she joined the Chamber, and she joined because she is passionate about Colfax and seeing it thrive.

"I want to be a part of the community, and where we are heading is very exciting," Golden said, adding that the new Board is a group of people who want to see change happen.

"They're excited, and I'm excited to work with them," she said, adding that she has worked with Kuhl on the PTO and works with Young in Colfax Kiwanis.
