Dorothy Lee Bothman

Dec. 24, 1929 - Jan. 19, 2024

Dorothy Lee Bothman, 94, passed to the arms of her Savior on January 19, 2024, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Wash. She passed peacefully surrounded by family.

On December 24, 1929, Dorothy was born on the family farm of her parents Wilbur and Florence Crockett near Rosalia, Wash. She attended Prairie View Elementary and graduated from Latah High School in 1948. She completed her academic endeavors after graduating from Kinman Business College. Dorothy's 40-year banking career started in 1953 with ONB (later known as US Bank) and ended in 1993. In retirement she enjoyed working part-time at Town & Country Floral.

Dorothy Crockett and Stanley Bothman were married March 7, 1952. Through 58 years of hard work and dedication the couple successfully established their own family farm business.

Dorothy lived life to the fullest, taking pride in caring for her home, meticulous yard, and serving her community. She was a member of the Rosalia Methodist Church (now the Rosalia Community Church), Malden Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, PALS, Whitman Co Shrine, and Daughters of the Nile. Any spare time was spent at the Priest Lake cabin, that she and Stan built and countless of hours fishing, boating and dancing.

She will always be remembered as the entertainer extraordinaire. Dorothy never passed up an opportunity to host a party for family and friends. She helped with numerous Church, Eastern Star, and lodge events. "The bigger the better" and "do it right" was how Dorothy did things, showcasing her extensive collection of linens, china, crystal, and silver, which she used often and loved to share with others.

After Stans's passing, she relocated to Touchmark on the South Hill and enjoyed a much-deserved rest while making new friends. Dorothy formed a special bond and devotion with Chet Davis and his family for several years until Chet's passing in 2022.

The proudest achievement of Dorothy's is the legacy her family leaves behind. She is survived by her three sons: Dean (Mary Beth) of Rosalia, Greg of Valleyford, and Mike (Marita) of Rosalia. Five grandchildren: Ryan (Sara) Bothman, Adam Bothman, Heidi (Cole) Wiggins, Ben (Michelle) Bothman, and Christin (Jerek) West. She also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley, sisters Marjorie Hoff Teal, Delores Lindhag, Donna Kjack, and her brother Edward (Chuck) Crockett.

The family would like to thank the many dear friends and community members for the continual love and support to Dorothy and Stan throughout the years. There are too many people to list, but know you are appreciated.

A service to celebrate the life of Dorothy L. Bothman will be on February 10, 2024, at 11a.m., at the Rosalia Community Church. Interment of ashes by family will precede the service. Suggested memorials are: Rosalia IOOF Evergreen Cemetery, Rosalia Community Church, or a personal choice of the donor.
