TEKOA — After losing a loser-out district tournament match, the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolf boys basketball team season has come to an end.
The Timberwolves played their final game on Saturday, Feb. 10, against Liberty Christian. Tekoa-Rosalia lost the game 64-48.
Tekoa-Rosalia trailed 17-12 after the first quarter of play. Vanden Allen led the way with four points in the quarter.
During the second quarter of play, the Timberwolves out-scored Liberty Christian 12-9, cutting the lead to two points at halftime.
Isaac Bone scored four points in the second quarter.
After the halftime break, Liberty Christian took a 20-13 advantage to control the flow of the game.
Tekoa-Rosalia would be out-scored by seven for the second-straight quarter as they fell by 16 points.
Bone finished with 17 points for Tekoa-Rosalia. Allen would score 23 points in the game to lead the Timberwolves.
Joseph Menga scored three points off a three-point shot in the first quarter for Tekoa-Rosalia.
The Timberwolves were the first 1B Whitman County team competing in the district tournament to be knocked out of a chance at state. The Oakesdale boys and girls have already qualified for state, and are competing for a district championship Friday, Feb. 16.
The Garfield-Palouse Vikings boys and girls played their games on Wednesday, Feb. 14, and the Colton Wildcats girls team also played Wednesday, Feb. 14, for a shot to play in state.
