Masquerade Ball slated for this weekend

COLFAX - Colfax Kiwanis is hosting its first annual masquerade ball this weekend, Sunday, Mar. 10, with light appetizers and snacks available from 6 to 10 p.m. and a DJ from 7 to 9 p.m. at the new event center located at the Golf Course.

Colfax Kiwanis member Dan LeBeau said that somebody threw out the idea of a masquerade ball, and they thought it sounded fun.

"We are encouraging people to dress up and have a good time, but to go ahead and be comfortable at the same time," LeBeau said about how people can dress for the event, noting it's Colfax formal.

LeBeau said people can bring their own masks, but masks will also be available at the event.

LeBeau said tickets are $25 per person and include two drinks per ticket, including beer or wine, and a cash bar will be available.

Tickets can be purchased through the Facebook link or at various Colfax businesses, including Signs and Designs, Rolling Hills Eyecare and Ackerman's Heating and Air. "All of it goes to helping local kids in the community," LeBeau said.

The event will also feature a Silent Auction. "We have gift baskets from The Cellar in Colfax," LeBeau said, adding that other items include a ride to a birthday party in a firetruck and a Colfax-themed mailbox with the Bulldog mascot on it.

LeBeau said there is also an LED light from Greg's Electric valued at $200.

The Masquerade Ball is sponsored by Greg's Electric, Harrison Electric and Colfax Body Repair.

"We really encourage people to come out, have a good time, and support local kids," LeBeau said.
