23 year old charged with multiple felonies
PULLMAN — A 23-year-old Washington State University (WSU) student is charged with allegedly raping a female student in his apartment after taking her home from a Fiji fraternity party.
Isaac Andrade, 23, is charged with two counts of felony 3rd-degree rape in Whitman County Superior Court and plead not guilty on Friday, March 8. He is scheduled to return to court on Friday, May 3.
According to the official statement of facts from the Pullman Police Department, Andrade allegedly raped the woman twice in his North Grand Avenue apartment after meeting her at a Fiji Frat party on North East Opal Street.
Officers were dispatched to the apartment complex at approximately 4:53 a.m. after receiving a call from a neighboring unit about a woman who was reportedly crying and knocking on the door saying she had been raped.
According to reports, Andrade and the woman went to his apartment to watch a movie.
Reports say the woman was intoxicated from the party and was “passing in and out.” According to reports, the woman reportedly told Andrade the two would not engage in intercourse.
According to reports, she was sick from alcohol consumption and was unable to move off the bed she laid down on. The woman was given a pair of shorts from Andrade. She fled the apartment barefoot to contact authorities.
Several clothing items belonging to the woman were in Andrade’s apartment bedroom.
According to Pullman Police Officer Breauna Carpenter, Andrade denied having intercourse with the woman and claimed only to have kissed her.
Reports say male DNA was found during the woman’s sexual assault forensic exam. According to reports, the DNA is confirmed to belong to Andrade.
