NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Variance Application VAR-23-02 Mader Recreational Vehicle Park Landscape Buffer

NOTICE is hereby given that the Pullman Hearing Examiner will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to consider Zoning Code Variance Application VAR-23-02. The hearing will be held virtually; join from PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android: https://meetings.ringcentral.com/j/1496454108. Case VAR-23-02 involves a request by Scott Sumner, on behalf of Steve Mader, to allow the reduction of a landscape buffer between a residential zone and the subject property, which is situated in a commercial zone, from the required 50 feet to no more than 25 feet. The subject property is located south of NW Albion Drive and east of NW Aspen Drive. Typically, a 50-foot Type I landscape buffer is required between residential and commercial uses, such as the recreational vehicle park proposed. The applicant feels that, with a 50-foot access easement adjacent to the proposed location for the required buffer, this would effectively create a 100-foot buffer between the zoning districts,

and would be excessive in this situation.

All interested persons or their authorized agents are encouraged to appear at the public hearing and testify for or against the proposal. Interested parties may also submit written comments regarding this application to the Community Development Department at City Hall prior to the public hearing, or by email to [email protected]. Please be advised that oral comments at the hearing may be subject to a time limit. At the public hearing, the Hearing Examiner will accept testimony on the proposal and then the matter will be closed for public input. Within 10 days of the public hearing, the Hearing Examiner will decide to approve, approve subject to conditions, or deny the applicant’s request. The decision will be made available to the public via the City website. Pertinent documents related to this case are available for public review at the Community

Development Department at City Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Pullman City Hall is accessible for persons with disabilities; please inform the Community Development Department if you will need any special accommodations to attend the meeting.
