Colton split with Eagles

Wildcats and Eagles each win one game of double-header

COLTON — The Colton Wildcats baseball team earned their first win of the season Saturday, April 13, with an 18-11 victory over the St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse Eagles.

The victory was the first of a double-header, where the Eagles earned revenge by winning the second game 15-12.

The first game saw both teams produce 14 hits and no errors in the game, while Colton scored six runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to help secure their seven-run victory.

Tanner Baerlocher started on the mound for Colton. He went three-and-two-thirds innings, allowing seven earned runs on 13 hits with four strikeouts.

For the Eagles, Matthew DeFord pitched three-and-a-third innings, allowing six earned runs on seven hits and seven strikeouts. Zane Webb allowed eight runs on seven hits in relief of DeFord.

Duke Chalmers led Colton with three hits, followed by Moehrle, Ryan Impson and Skyler Purnell.

Webb had four hits for the Eagles, and Daniel McGuire led the way with three RBIs on three hits.

The second game saw the Eagles score nine runs combined in the first two innings to hold strong, winning 15-12.

The Eagles won the game while producing just five hits.

Colton had 12 hits, led by four from Impson.

Warren Repp led the way for the Eagles with three RBIs on one hit.
