Took down Colton before splitting against Vikings
ST. JOHN - After a four-game losing streak, the St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse Eagles split two games played last week.
The first game was a 16-3 victory over the Colton Wildcats. The game was played on Tuesday, April 16, in Colton.
The Eagles would score 10 runs in the sixth inning to help secure their 13-run victory, while holding the Wildcats to just one hit.
Matthew DeFord pitched all six innings for the Eagles against the Wildcats. He allowed three runs, one earned, on just one hit with three walks. He also struck out six batters in the game.
For Colton, they saw Tanner Baerlocher pitch five innings. He allowed six runs on seven hits with three walks. He also struck out eight batters in the game.
St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse had eight total hits in the game, led by two from DeFord and Blake Johnson. DeFord would have four RBIs on his two hits with a walk.
Zane Webb had one hit for two RBIs, and Jeffrey Mackey had one hit for an RBI.
The Wildcats produced just one hit in the game, which was Ryan Impson.
Colton were walked just three times, with one each from Hemighaus, Silas Nollmeyer and Brennan Schlee.
The Eagles then took on the Garfield-Palouse Vikings for a double-header. The games were played in Garfield on Saturday, April 20.
The first game was a 19-8 victory for the Eagles, before losing the second game 4-14 to the Vikings.
The two teams then met on Tuesday, April 23, for a single game in Endicott, the game was not finalized at the time of press.
For the Eagles, they currently sit 5-7 on the season. They have three games left during the regular season, all of which are against the Dayton Bulldogs.
The first two games against Dayton will be played in a double-header on Saturday, April 27, in Endicott. The games are set to start at 11 a.m., and 1 p.m.
The final regular season game for the Eagles will be Tuesday, April 30, in Dayton. The game is set to start at 4 p.m.
