Drug task force seizes fentanyl

Second narcotics warrant at the same Clarkston address

CLARKSTON — A search warrant led to the arrest of a Clarkston man Thursday, April 25.

Detectives from the Quad Cities Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Lewiston Police Department and the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office, executed a narcotics related search warrant at a residence located in the 1400 block of Pound Lane in Clarkston.

Richard Almeida, 62, of Clarkston, was arrested by detectives after the search warrant led them to locating 700 fentanyl pills and 1.5 ounces of packaged fentanyl powder.

According to a Facebook post by Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, this is the second time this year detectives have served a narcotics related search warrant at the same address, with an arrest in January of Robert Bergamo, 69, of Clarkston at the same location.

Almeida was arrested and booked into the Asotin County Jail on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, states the post.

The Quad Cities Drug Task Force is partially funded by the United State Department of Justice Bureau to combat narcotics distribution in Southeastern Washington and Western Idaho Counties.
