Coroner confirms cause of death as strangulation in Wilson-Spray case
COLFAX — In a press release from Saturday, May 4, Whitman County Coroner’s Office confirmed the manner of death of 25-year-old Jamie Wilson-Spray as homicide.
The coroner’s office confirmed the cause of Wilson-Spray’s death was asphyxia due to the compression of the neck.
Wilson-Spray was found in a trailer March 26, at Sevdy’s, a trailer park at 605 N.W. Fish St. According to police records, Wilson-Spray had scratches and bruising on her neck.
Jacob Erik Spray, 36, of Pullman faces a charge of murder second-degree, for allegedly killing his estranged wife Wilson-Spray.
In an April 5, arraignment hearing, Spray was read his rights by Judge Douglas Robinson, and confirmed that the charges he faced could mean life in prison.
Spray pled not guilty, and a trial date was set for 9 a.m. on June 3.
Spray is being held on a $200,000 bail following his arrest at approximately 9:13 p.m. Tuesday, March 26. He was booked into the jail at 7:24 a.m. the next morning.
