Bulldogs dominant on mound

Both baseball and softball threw no-hitter

COLFAX — The Colfax Bulldogs softball team are 11-7 heading into their final regular season week after sweeping Reardan, 10-0, 21-5.

The baseball team have completed their regular season with a 13-6 overall record. Their last games were a victory over Reardan as well, 11-0, 10-6.

Both teams played on Saturday, April 27, in Reardan.

The baseball team shut-out the Screaming Eagles in the first game, winning 11-0.

JP Wigen pitched all six innings played in the game. He would pitch a no-hitter, allowing just two walks as the only base runners in the game. Wigen would also strikeout 12 batters.

Colfax had 12 hits on offense, led by three from Erik Christensen, and two from Isaac Nelson, Dawson Lobdell, and Tyler Peterson.

The second game was a 10-6 victory for Colfax.

Nelson pitched the first five innings of the game, allowing five runs, three earned, on six hits with two strikeouts. Aslan Burt would pick up three RBIs in the game.

The softball team would defeat the Screaming Eagles 10-0 in the first game as well, also throwing a no-hitter in the game.

Gracie Bofto pitched all five innings, walking three batters, striking out eight.

The second game was a 21-5 rout for Colfax.

The Bulldogs combined for 21 runs on 10 hits, led by two from Ava Swan, Harley Hennigar, Chevy Booth and Hailey Vanderbark.

Hennigar pitched three innings for Colfax in the game, allowing three hits for two earned runs and three walks.
