Carol Ann Kjack

Nov. 6, 1935 - Feb. 3, 2024

Kjack, Carol Ann (age 88) passed away on February 3, 2024, in Spokane, Wash. Carol was born on November 6, 1935, to Frank and Margaret Tupling in Chewelah, Wash., where she joined her sisters Elizabeth, Stella, Ethel, and June, and brother, William (Bill). In the fall of 1944, the family moved to Rosalia, Wash. Carol graduated from Rosalia High School in 1953, after which she attended Kinman Business University. Upon graduating from Kinman, she worked at Centennial Mills on Trent Avenue in Spokane until her marriage to Bob Kjack on June 27, 1959. At that time, she became a farm homemaker and later a mother to their son, David, in 1960 and their daughter, Terri, in 1963.

Carol enjoyed working in her flower beds, but particularly working with her roses. In fact, her CB-radio handle was "Rosebud." She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle solver until her eyesight began to suffer from macular degeneration. She enjoyed many lunches with her friends from the Birthday Bunch. Carol was also a two-time cancer survivor in 2001.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret; brother Bill; sisters Elizabeth, Ethel, and Stella; husband Bob; and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is survived by her sister, June Wallace, son David, daughter Terri, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Spokane, Rosalia Fire and Ambulance Fund, or the Kenova Grange. Graveside services will be held at the Pine City Cemetery on Saturday, May 11, at 1:30 p.m., followed by a gathering at the Kenova Grange Hall in Pine City.
