Charles "Chuck" Babbitt

Charles "Chuck" Babbitt, aged 73, passed away on June 18, 2024, in Spokane, Washington, where he was born on December 10, 1950. A lifelong resident of Lacrosse, Oakesdale and Spokane, Chuck dedicated 30 years of service to Whitman County in the Road Department, contributing significantly to the community he loved.

Chuck graduated from Endicott High School before earning his degree in Mathematics from Eastern Washington University. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a passionate supporter of Gonzaga basketball, enthusiastically following both men's and women's teams. Chuck also cherished time spent with his grandchildren, cheering them on at various activities. He was devoted to participating in bringing in the annual wheat harvest in the Oakesdale/Farmington area.

Remembered for his generous spirit and keen sense of humor, Chuck was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Babbitt; children, Megan Baldwin and Jeff Babbitt; stepdaughters, Kimberly Osterman and Jennifer Janssen; grandchildren, Logan, Emme and Kaia Baldwin; Fieldin and Greta Babbitt; Kameron, Kolton, Kennedy, Kollen, Kaeden and Karson Osterman; and Hallie Gastello and Joe Mattfeld. He also leaves behind his brother, Jake, and sister, Pam. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Lawrence Babbitt.

Pacific Northwest Cremation in Spokane, Washington, is handling the arrangements. Chuck's life and legacy will be celebrated by all who knew him, leaving a lasting impact through his family and numerous contributions to his community.
