COLFAX - The Colfax Rotary Club and the Colfax High School baseball team have banned together again this year to sell fireworks for the Fourth of July.
The stand opened on Friday, June 28, and will continue operation until July 4. The stand will be open from noon to 8 p.m. June 28 through July 3, and on July 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rosauers parking lot.
Rotary Club Treasurer Bob Lothspeich said that the Colfax Rotary Club is just teaming up with the baseball team this year and will split proceeds.
"The cost of the product has gone up a little bit," Lothspeich said, adding that Rosauers has an arrangement with TNT so they've been able to have the booth there for over approximately 20 years.
The baseball teams uses their portion of the proceeds to buy supplies for the team.
On Friday, July 28, baseball team players Cooper Warwick and Liam Cocking were manning the station ready to sell fireworks to anyone looking to light up the sky on the Fourth of July.
"Getting the kids involved and volunteering makes it more important to them as well," said volunteer Dixie Nelson.
"They're legal fireworks provided us through TNT, so we have a permit with the city to be located there and to sell them," Lothspeich said, "We just hope everybody has a fun Fourth of July season using our products."
